There were six of us on March 22, 2011, fossil hunting on one of the many Colorado River Pebble Terraces. The weather was PERFECT! Many beautiful things were found, most of them by our guest and prospective new member, Allen Valley! We can also thank Allen for the photos, as he was the only person who brought a camera!
We had an interesting time trying to find our way back to the freeway from the collecting area. To our dismay, we discovered that we can no longer access Black Creek Road from the east, because of the solar power plant that is being built in the area. We had to back track a few miles! Sad to say, we are being squeezed out of our collecting areas more and more all the time! So, rock hunt while you are still allowed!!
Those attending were: Darlene Bjork, Marge Buxton, Barbara Catlin, Tina Gonzales, Al Granger, and Allen Valley.
