What a great field trip we had to one of the Pebble Terraces near Blythe. Strong winds had been predicted earlier in the week for this day. Each day the prediction for wind speed was less and less until we were finally blest with near perfect weather!

The Colorado River terraces are filled with many varieties of wonderful things which were washed down all the way from Colorado and the Southwest. There is enough material to please any rockhound. We found beautiful fossils, agate, jasper, and petrified wood, good cutting material and good tumbling stones! Some of the fossils contained small quartz crystals. It can’t get any better than that!

Shortly after noon, already tired, we found our way back to civilization and then visited our favorite ice cream shop to finish off our beautiful day!
